As you may have seen on the homepage, we’re a supporter of DJ AM’s Memorial Fund set up by the Creative Visions Foundation. This is what it’s all about:
“The DJ AM Memorial Fund maintains the legacy of Adam Goldstein and his commitment to helping others struggling with addiction. Utilizing media partnerships to garner support and increase awareness, contributions will help organizations and projects committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery.
100% of the proceeds of the sales from these auctions will go to the fund.
The DJ AM Memorial Fund is fiscally sponsored by the Creative Visions Foundation. Creative Visions Foundation supports “Creative Activists”, individuals who use the power of media and the arts to create positive change in the world.”
If you didn’t know, DJ AM was a HUGE sneakerhead – his collection boasted over 600 pairs of shoes. Amazing. If you don’t believe me, check out this video, haha:
Anyway, the auction (aside from a chance to get your hands on some great sneakers) is a great cause. There are a countless number of people worldwide that struggle with addiction and its subsequent recovery and contributing to this effort can only mean progress in combating this ongoing battle – especially in today’s society.
We’ve already lost way too many great people to these struggles, so please take a look at the eBay auction and spread the word. This was the shoe auction list as of yesterday (the 2nd day of the auction):
New shoes will be added every evening through the first week of December,
so check back often!
